Well, first I would try and eliminate the obvious and check to see if the drive boots ANYTHING, meaning pop a bootable cdrom in it and see if it boots. Check to make sure your BIOS is "seeing" the correct dvd drive and change the settings as necessary. Also you could try messing with your jumpers(although it shouldnt be necessary) to see if the system likes it being the master.. or even Cable select.
Also, what did you use to burn the image onto the CD? Sometimes the image can be burned incorrectly, leaving you with a data packed CD but nothing to make it bootable...

that "other" is probably windows.. If your using fedora then your boot loader is grub.. and you can cd to /boot/grub and edit the config file to make it print whatever you want(windoze, winblows, etc etc) and even change the primary boot OS. If "other" is not the correct choice, there are ways to edit your grub config file so that it will load windows...heres a couple sites that might help

well, actually, im considering formatting and installing FC3 as my only OS.
Im making kind of a list where i place pros and cons, or things that perhaps win has but FC3 doesn't. That's talking about utilities (the first "important" thing i would miss is VB -used for school projects- ).
I hope you can help me building this "list".

hey davidklose,
Do not worry about anything, just throw your windows of the window and you'll never regret it
Of course it is useful to have windows somewhere for some specific applications or testing, but you can do so in a virtual pc via vmware and boot windows under your linux in an instanse whenever you feel like.
