Sorry, Lindows I don't understand what you mean by "im having a hard time upload". Can you please explain?

Hey Dalight,
Well, i managed to upload all the ipcop upates. I also managed to install advproxy and url filter. Yes! I'm becoming more comfortable with linux. No the problem is, i want to use the proxy server. I enabled it one green and set it to transparent, But when i go to ipchicken to check my ip address, i still get the address my isp provides me with.
Also i added a access point the router, but i for some reason i can't configure it with security. I don't want my neighbors eating my bandwidth.
I want to install 128 bit wep or wpa on it.
So i guess what my question is, how do i put my pc's behind the proxy server and how do i secure wep on my access point.
Sorry for the long novel,
Lindows

Hi Lindows,
Glad to see you're learning more about your IPCOP. I just want to clarify one issue before going on to answer your questions.
The above behaviour is as expected. The Proxy server is masking your internal IP and presenting ipchicken with the external IP of the Proxy server, which is your ISP assigned address. If you want your ISP assigned address to be masked, you will need to go through a publicly hosted proxy server.
Wireless security
Forget WEP. Use WPA pre-shared key unless you have a RADIUS server. WPA pre-shared key is still crackable, but choose the longest allowed key length to reduce the risk. The procedure will depend on your wireless access point. This can usually be done via the web admin GUI for the access point. You will also need to enter the WPA keys on any client machines. If you've got any issues, let us have the model numbers of your equipment.
IPCOP Blue Network Interface
You are right. The Blue interface on IPCOP is designed for the connection of wireless devices. Using the "Blue Access Administrative Web Page" option under the Firewall Menu, machines on BLUE can be granted access to the internet via the RED interface. In addition, using the "DMZ Pinholes Administrative Web Page" option also under the Firewall Menu, machines on Blue can be granted limited access to GREEN by means of specified "pinholes".
Network Cards
With regards to the number of network cards in your IPCOP, you will need one NIC for each zone on your IPCOP (unless your RED ZONE is connected directly to a USB/serial modem). There are four possible interface types: RED, GREEN, DMZ and BLUE. Therefore if you have three NICs already, that should be enough unless you also have a DMZ interface. You will need to login to your IPCOP console to rerun the setup program if you did not setup the BLUE interface at the intial installation. Until you do that, you will not be able to access the "Blue Access Administrative Web Page" option under the Firewall Menu.
Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any more problems.
