ZiPPy,

I found the story which is called "The Story Behind the Resume of Scott Morris" It is a bit of a read, but a rather good one. If you need some inspiration or simply are just curious about his resume, you should definitely read this story. If you haven't seen his resume, take a peak at it too. IIt is quite impressive. I love reading stories and seeing people like this, because it only inspires me more!!

hmm, Got his first computer at age 11 and started programming. 4 CCIE, no wonder!!. Gotta check it out some time. Although I'm not a good reader by nature, but sure this sounds interesting.

KiLLaBeE,

Nice thread. Here is what I have. It was never intended to grow like that. For some reason I kept buying.

LOL

On some other article about Scott Morris, he said something similar. He said something along the lines of "after about X amount of equipment, the lab took a life of its own." I guess labs really do.

Can't agree more, labs breed.

Ok, I'm going give this a try.. It's taken some time but I've managed to link them all together.. While verifing most of the links I found out that my older 2950 has only 100meg MTRJ uplinks.. It's the one on the bottom... So I now have to replace it to get the pathways to work right..

Now that you guys have seen what I got going on, thoughts??

Also with Cisco equipment breeding, doesn't that give new meaning to the term "Cybersex"???

Regeth,

Its a large and interesting topology you have there. As I'm sure with your years of experience that you comprehend it very well. I'm not sure I do, so I'll start with two questions and thoughts to trigger the talk:

1. Are the two topologies separate or are they connected some how?

2. The second network has many connections and obviously loops, so your probably running allot of VLANs here, am I right? Are those layer 3 switches doing routing?

He must be running VLANs, otherwise that could get ugly real quick.

Can you post your configs too. I'm really interested in how you have this topology configured.

Cheers,

The routing and switching labs are separated by the 2912 switch.. yes, there are to more links that I didn’t show. But they come from the 2611 and 2621 down to the 2960 and 3560 switches. With my CCO account, I am able to upgrade to the latest IOS for each model switch.. I did how ever found out that my older 2924XL doesn’t have gig links so I had to find a replacement.. It’s going to be another 3550.. Got to love ebay.. $44 usd!! Anyhow yes the rings are going to be inter linked by the layer 2 switches passing just vlan traffic.

I hope that I have the skill to get the paths configed right.. Coming up with IP address schemes is where the biggest challenge is going to come.. I’m planning to start with the routing between the 2500’s, then work my way thru all the T-1, ISDN, 56k links to finish it all off. After I get that, then off to the switches.. When I took the CCNA test a few years ago, the VLAN questions kick my a$$.. I’m not going to let that happen again.

Now keep in mind, I have the 24port Sonicwall, and PIX506e that can be added when I get upto firewalls…

Zippy, so far I don't have anything really configured yet. I got most of the patching in, I had to make all my own ethernet crossovers.. I still have to make crossovers for the T-1, ISDN, and 56K. But yeah, I will post everything as I go.. I might even start a website to house it all. I have domain name but stopped the hosting contract.
