This is a very annoying problem. You have to be very careful while performing this upgrade. You’ll need to delete the current IOS. While making sure you don’t lose power or reboot the router by mistake. You can TFTP the new IOS and it won’t change over until you do reboot.

If you do lose power thou you can still use the “rommon” mode to configure a port and tftp the new IOS. I’ve ran into this issue plenty of times with switches mainly..

Okay ...that totally makes sense now. The existing IOS and the new IOS, together exceed the space. I understood this before, but neglected to apply that because for the past IOS upgrades I was spoiled with plenty of space.

Regeth, we have discussed this where having CF and USB comes in handy. This is one of those moments.

I'm currently NOT going to reload the IOS. I will continue troubleshooting with Regeth. He has been a great help and really glad he joined our community.

I power cycled the equipment not working, some more than once. I have connected to ALL devices successfully. But I have done this before, maybe with one device not connecting. The question is how long will this hold, as last time I came back two days later and only 2 or 3 would connect.

Making progress though!
