Same here ... Although I would be quite comfortable running raw RDP over the internet (albeit at the highest encryption level), I always run it over SSH. Not just because of the increased security, but because I use SSH to sort out the end-to-end connectivity.

The VPN tunnel is encrypted to high standards, can't really go into detail but suffice it to say it's secure. Then we run RDP over that
