Hey Dalight,
You were right i was loggin all wrong. I finally reinstalled the advproxy and url filter addons, my problem now comes from the copfilter addon. For some reason it doesn't install like the previous two addon. Do you have any experience with this addon.

P.s i added the mac address of the access point and mac address of my laptop but i still can get internet to the laptop. The laptop will scan for the access point, detect it, but no internet connection is made.

I have not used "Copfilter" at all although I know what it does. I am always wary about installing too many addons on my IPCOPs as they can conflict with each other and also potentially open up security holes. Copfilter seems to be a very comprehensive addon which does a lot of things, so you have to be sure of what you're doing with it. I personally like the advproxy and url filter addons as they perform just one task each and they do them well. In conclusion, although I would not advise installing Copfilter along with these other two addons let me know what the exact problems are and I'll try my best.
Re: the access point
Is it definitely just an access point as opposed to a NAT router?

Hey Dalight,
The access point it just a accesspoint.
Along with the copfilter, i don't know how to install it.
I would really like some virus protect, because in my IDS log, someone tried a my sql attack on my system. I don't quite understand it. One more question how do i use the advance proxy addon to hide my ISP address behind a proxy.
Thanks for the help again..

Antivirus software will not protect against an SQL attack. In any case, IPCOP does not have an SQL server running on it, and unless you have SQL servers running behind your IPCOP with exposed ports, you don't need to worry about that.
The AdvProxy addon only deals with your local proxy needs. It is not a public proxy of the type that will hide your ISP address. You can use Tor for that.

No problem. I'm still puzzled by the problem with the access point, though. Let us know if you find a solution. I'll do likewise if I come up with something.
