Will do DaLight (Ordering a 3300v tomorrow to play with) :D

donanak, I also work in IT, and although I have various IT related qualifications, im always learning new things. Its only recently that I decided to delve into linux solutions after being dissapointed by several commercial offerings.

I have to say that I would have struggled without the help of guys like DaLight who always point me in the right direction, this has enabled me to build some pretty impressive kit over the past few months :D

My advice is:

1. Choose a technology (firewall, UTM, etc)
2. Download your choice and play with it
3. Break it
4. Try and fix it
5. fail miserably (like I did)
6. Ask on here for help (Guru DaLight to the rescue!!)
7. Fix it properly
8. Gain Confidence & Knowledge
9. Add things to your project (addons, patches etc)
10. Break it again
11. Repeat steps 4 to 8 :D

Its amazing how quickly you learn how these technologies work!

I have always found that, no matter how basic or simple the question is, no one will ever moan at you; after all, we all had to start somewhere!

So...how can u make fail-over and load balancing with IpCop?

You can't do it with IPCOP. Read the whole thread for alternatives.
