ping 216.239.39.99 -t
(btw, that ip is google.com)
They wouldn't mind some ICMP pings

I tried mass pinging google (Oh I have clearly forgotten about the -t flag) and after tonnes of ping, my router is still up and running.
But I still don't understand why I get the problem "Gateway unreachable" when I just switched on my router. This problem will persist for like 30min before going away on its own. Maybe my router needs to warm up?
Thanks for all your advice.
PS: My router is made by Novi (or at least there is this label novi on my router).

Has your router taken an IP address by the ISP when this error is logged?

Do you regain your connection after:
1. A router reboot.
2. A PC reboot.
I've come across a similar problem and I'm just wondering if it may be related...

Okay, here is an idea:
Try using your modem and your NIC without the router inbetween. See if the problem persits! If it dosn't, its the router. I really don't know whats causing it... try getting a new good router.
