Im not sure what you mean, for your ASA to receive IP information you have to have one interface set to DHCP. Assuming your asa received a DNS server from your ISP you can use the global command "show ip dns primary" to see its primary DNS server.


The show ip dns primary command isn't on my ASA. I only have show ip dns address, audit, local, or verify.

Any ideas?

I don't have it on my ASA too. It seams like it's available on router IOSes www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/ipaddr/comm..._dns2.html#wp1013542

As a last resort, you could use ipconfig /all it will display it for you. Then configure it statically on the ASA.

Yeah, I know there are workarounds, but there has to be a way to find it on the ASA, right? I already have my workstations set statically, but how would I know if the ISP changed DNS or something. It would be nice to issue a command on the ASA to find it.
