I don't mean to dodge the question... but if you're not in a campus environment and you just want to get to the internet, why not just use 4.2.2.2? It's been up forever and it's free.

I am using that as a DNS server.
I ALSO want to know how to get the DNS server received by my ASA from the ISP.
I manage several ASAs and would like to know if there is a show command that could help.
Thanks!

Try this. Ping
www.google.com
and see if you get this response
Translating "www.google.com"...domain server (192.168.0.1) [OK]
Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 74.125.19.99, timeout is 2 seconds:
In this case the 192.168.0.1 is my dns server address.

From the ASA, it just says invalid hostname. I tried google.com and
www.google.com
Time to create page: 0.123 seconds
