Cisco simulators

hi,
i would like to know what are the best cisco router simulators available, so that i could have a feel of working on an actual cisco router.
please feel free to give an opinion on how good simulators are on understanding cisco routers throughly

hey Shamil simulators are pretty good but it highly depends on the version u are using..

The ones i use are - Network Visualizer, Packet tracer (so nice, user friendly, interactive flash content, etc). There are others like Boson, etc. Packet tracer is one of the commonest we have around. A newer version of packet tracer has just been released 5.0..

I think you should try Dynamips along with Dynagen. The below link gives u all the details required.

And GNS3 is a GUI for it: www.gns3.net/

By the way, Those are rather Emulators not Simulators. So they use the same IOS images as the real routers.
