I may not be much use to you here. I have never tried to police at layer 2 on a non-trunk port.

Have you looked into the rate-limit command? I found some information on using it to limit by a mac acl.

Please do... and let me know what you find. I am new to QoS; I only started to study it for passing the ONT exam. I am now studying for the QoS 642-642 exam. I will let you know if I run accross a solution.

I looked at my book today in the LAN QoS section and everything you did was the same except the book's example used an IP access list.

Maybe you should do it per IP permit any any instead?

I got out a 2950 switch and I was going to test it myself, but the lowest that the switch would let me police was 10 MB for some reason.

After you put your policies in place, how did you test the speed? I wouldn't think the DLS reports would really help unless you have a really fast Internet connection.

police 5240000 163750 163750 conform-action transmit exceed-action drop

Actually, where did you get 163750? My book doesn't show that as being a possible burst rate...

The book says for 10/100 use 4096, 8192, 16386, 32768, or 65,536 and for 1 Gig there are other values...
