There are lots of Monitoring tools available.....I will prefer Whats up Gold, PearMonitor and SolarWind...are some of the finest NMS tools...

Also advice me in following things

1. Tool for Packet drop in the network
2. delay and Latency finder
3. Which ip belongs to whome and how to send a remote msg
4. How to maintain VLAN
5. Link management.

Solarwinds is a good bet alongwith the other tools

Sounds like homework...

How About Opmanager? Its a good tool, which has nice GUI, Email alerts, sms alerts and good reporting feature.
