HI All,
(couldn't pass a dsl thread without adding to it!)
So far are correct. The real issue behind this is probably that the ISP wholesale contract with BT probably states they are responsible for 1st line investigations which include questions like is there a filter on the line.
Before the log this with BT I am betting they have to complete a rather detailed fault description and confirm the basics - Is the router plugged in? etc and if they send it back with one negative answer i.e. no filter BT will use this an excuse not to investigate OR investigate but not be held responsible for time it takes to resolve.
If they can answer all questions correctly then the fault I guess BT will accept this fault as valid then the ISP can hold them to an SLA.
Tell'em the required nbumber of filters (1 per phone) are used - 0 phones 0 filters.
maybe also suggest they check there B-RAS records it will show you failed to authenticate ...
Cheers

I was hoping you didn't pass it by as i wanted your feedback also since this is the industry you are in
Thanks very much for the contribution, the strange thing about the B-RAS was that they did infact check this but only got failed authentications from the previous day (it went down then aswell). It makes sense about BT since they did state that BT wouldn't investigate unless its also happening with the filter.
The funny thing is that they ran a check on the line and apparently it did show something but could be at the CPE end, he then checked the fault code and the filters question was one of them (wish i had just said yes now, lol).
Well see on Monday when i plug one in and if it happens again.....well less said, hehe.
Cheers
