Well, I am having trouble communicating with the PIX. I have attempted to connect to the PIX via Hyper Terminal. I have the following settings:

Bits per second: 9600 baud
Data bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop bits: 1
Flow Control: None
And I have it setup on COM1

After I accept those settings, I get nothing. Could somebody walk me through the steps from here out please.

As far as the GUI goes, I wanted to take a look at some stuff. What do I need to do to get the GUI up and running? Do I need some type of updated software/firmware for the PIX to access the GUI?

So I am messing with the Cisco PIX501 I got awhile ago, which could be broken, just my luck. But now I got another broken Cisco product, a Catalyst 1900 Series switch. I plug in the AC adaptor to the Catalyst switch and it runs for about a minute or so, and all of a sudden it turns off. I smell a burnt fuse, but I popped it open and can't really tell what blew? Any ideas for a remedy or anybody heard of this happening to them?

I am getting all these nice Cisco toys, but I don't think they like me very much :( Maybe its a sign...no CCNA or other certs for you ZiPPy...geee I hope not.

It will run you a few hundred USD, depending on license, new/used, memory, etc.
