the DLCI is the PATH built in the service provider for you to get to the other end...think of it as a train you have to catch to get from poin A to point B. Now if you r at your local station (point A) tell me how the heck can you manage to get on a train thats at point B!!!!?? which is the remote station ehsomehow the book says the frame relay command
for mayberry is
#int se0/0/0
#frame-relay map ip 199.1.1.2 52 broadcast
#frame-relay map ip 199.1.1.3 53 broadcast
im confused whats the correct command, when i use a frame relay at packet tracer, the book's config
#frame-relay map ip <destination ip> <remote DLCI> broadcast
doesnt work..
but the
#frame-relay map ip <destination ip> <local DLCI> broadcast
works
think of the command as
# Frame map ip <dest ip> <local train i gotta catch to get to other end> Broadcast
got it?
