I am curious to know the speed difference between the 2511 series and the 2621. When I say speed, I simply mean running a simple command such as show run.
I have an AS2511-RJ and a simple show run commands takes about 6 to 7 seconds to execute. Working primarily on 1700 and 2600 series routers in the lab, I have always seen an immediate response from that command.
I'm running IOS 12.3.26 w/ 16MB/16MB for RAM and Flash. I was thinking to run an older IOS for better speed performance, that is with IOS 12.2. The IOS 12.2.x seems to be the primary choice for most network engineers. This is with the notion of fewer problems w/ VoIP and other upgraded technologies. From what I gather, running the latest IOS version can have its fair share of problems.
