Are you using HUB or switch? Non- std cabling works fine with HUB but not with Switch.

have you tried connecting the cables to other ports in your switch/hub? it may be that the fault lies on the ports of the switch/hub rather on the cables.

most probably the cable must be faulty. try recrimpping the cable at both ends and check for the continuity.

^ agreed ...sometimes my wire order loks perfect but a fresh termination is needed.
Also, purchase a cable tester, there cheap and will pay for themselves in the time you will save and the frustration you will avoid.
