It's been 13 years and over 110 million hits since Firewall.cx first went online and I must say its been an exciting trip for everyone here. We've met new people, made new friends, shared our knowledge with the global IT community and managed to create a unique community that consists of professionals all over the world.
Since our first day, Firewall.cx has been well-known for its dark-based theme and bright colours - which I'm sure most will agree that it has become our identity:) However times have changed and as such, we need to change and adapt to the new technologies and designs with the ultimate goal of making this site more friendly and easier to navigate.
Today is a new milestone for us as we've decided it was time to move forward and take this site and its community to the next level.
The new Firewall.cx is a completly redesigned site, from the ground up. We've went ahead and changed our design to make the site look and feel lighter and much easier to read. Taking into account mobile users, we've ensured our new design is fully responsive - meaning that it now supports mobile devices. Users viewing the site from mobile devices (iPad, Smartphones etc) can switch between a light-weight compact mode and full-site mode.
While our design might have changes, our articles still remain the same top-quality everyone has come to know. Yes, many old articles will still carry signatures of the old Firewall.cx (you'll still get the black background colour!), however all new articles will be created based on the new design.
We are also in the process of making changes to our articles and removing bright colours (yellow, red etc) that do not blend with the new design - so if you see any article that needs to be adjusted, we are on it - we just haven't got to it yet:)
Closing, we would love to read your fedback and tell us what you think about the new design - we are always looking to improve everything we can. If you happen to find something that is not working, please do let us know!
