Web server Config was created by aminos
Hi
I want to set up a web server with freeBSD using apache
i want just to know the hardware config
i expect 3 000 visit per a month
How much memory should i use ?
i want to know if there is a formula to calaculate how much memory
to allocate to each vistor ?
i know that i don't have to use much processing for that
so a PIII processor would be sufficient
is there a site that mention the hardware use to host my site ?
for example i want to know the hardware used to host Firewall.cx ?
Thanks for all

Hmmm.. you won't need a high configuration machine for running that server.. infact even a low end box will do, especially since you picked a BSD...
I would suggest you just get yourself a 256 MB PIII.. will be more than enough for 3000 hits monthly... especially if you strip it down nicely and manage it over SSH or similar. You could probably even run it on 128MB RAM.. but 256 is not expensive so consider scalability.
As far as f.cx goes, our requirements are somewhat different since we average ~ 40,000 hits per day.....
Cheers,

Sahirh, wary of social engineering techniques? no way... I would have never thought you were so paranoid....

Better to be safe than sorry
As a guideline aminos, if you research the requirements for a busy site, you'll find out that the majority of them run on Xeon Processors and at least 2-4 gigs of RAM.
Cheers,
