Lost file on a floppy

Good Morning,

One of my users was working from a 3 1/2" floppy and accidently "lost" the file. I have searched the hard drive of the PC just to make sure the file wasn't moved or saved there, but no luck. The floppy has not been changed...nothing added or deleted since the file was erased. Is there any utility that I can use to recover it from the floppy. It is a MS Word 2000 text doc...no graphics, no special formatting.

Thanks for any help!

Might want to check out Get Data Back. It saved me one time when I Mezzed Up (pun intended :P) the partition table on a HD, but I don't know if it does floppy too.

Failing that, try a hex editor that can directly read blocks on the disk. There are several shareware/freeware ones out there. I once sucessfully recovered a Word document in this way but it's definitely last-resort territory
