Argosoft Mail Server trouble was created by laurie
Okay, yesterday our mail server shut down, and windows defaulted all the SMTP and POP3 settings which ment all our external clients email went down. That is sorted now.....apart from one issue, one of our clients can send emails via our mail server, but is not receiving them. I see on the log that he is constantly connecting to the POP3 and checking his inbox, so he is connected correctly.
All our clients use Outlook 2000, not Outlook Express.
This may have something to do with it...
When people attempt to email him they get a bounce back email which looks like this:
Command
test*
not understood.
Please send mail to *******@*****ltd.co.uk, containing word HELP as the first non-blank line for the list of available commands.
ArGoSoft Mailing List Server

So..... is the server seeing sent emails to this person as a list of commands?
Any light that can be shed on this issue would be greatly appreiciated.
