email trace was created by gainil
Hi

Was just wondering, if it is possible to trace the IP or email id of the original sender of a forwarded mail, where the emaid id of original sender is deleted by the forwarder.

Let me put it this way, abc@yahoo.com sends to def@yahoo.com, def forwards to ghi@hotmail.com, ghi@hotmail.com deletes traces of abc and def's email ids and forwards to jkl@gmail.com)

In other words can jkl@gmail.com somehow know that who sent mail to ghi@hotmail.com

I hope this is clear, couldn't put in more simple way :-)

Any possibility for such tracing?

Regards

Gainil

I'm fairly sure it's not possible to trace forwarded e-mail details. The sender's details are visible, depending upon the e-mail client, but not those of previous sender's in a chain. The only information which *may* be visible are e-mail addresses to whom previous messages had been sent, but not the full e-mail headers

Not possible as far as I know, even the last sender/forwarder in the chain can forge his own email address. However, the IP of the last sender can be USUALLY traced from the message headers.
