Exactly what I wanted, thanks!
I thought cloning software ran from a boot disk/CD... when the software says Windows or Linux, does that mean it will only clone hard drive with Windows/Linux installed or does it mean that the cloning software on the boot CD is written in Linux?

Your welcome, For FOG, It says it can image Windows XP/2003 and Vista. Not sure about the rest, I usually use ghost. I just saw FOG a couple of months ago, never tried it yet.

I use the Backup and Restore Centre that comes with Vista (not sure if a complete image is available in all Vista versions) to do a complete backup image of my system. Can then restore using the Recovery Mode booting off the Vista media. The only thing it lacks is compression but it does the trick.
For other OS's then FOG looks good
