Identify Voice/Data/Fax Calls was created by nirmalkumars
Iam running WINFAX in my system. Often I get confused to identify the incoming calls like which is voice call, which is fax call, for I have only one phone connection. MY telephone provider is not offering distinctive ring service. So what is the solution. Pls help.

Some of the higher end modems are smart enough to figure out if its a voice call or a fax / data transmission eg the US Robotics 56k v.90 series.
However I don't know if this is dependent on your phone provider giving you a different ring.
Otherwise you'll just have to ask someone to call you before they send you a fax so you can tell the modem to answer.
Wow its been ages since I used a fax machine.. I love the smell of thermal paper !
