hey everyone I am in some need of some serious help. I leave my computer all 24/7 (I like coming to my puter and pressing a key and b00m its up!!) so I get alot of popups when I just turn my monitor off and just leave AIM running. Its ridiculous!! I have both spybot and ad-ware and I run them all the time. They are both updated and I still get 20+ popups every 3 to 5 min. Its driving me nuts. I am on W2K and the computer is set to be a server that I go online with for research and what not. Anybody have any solution to get rid of these freakin pop-ups! I got over the spam in my email because I don't have to see it all the time but pop-ups is anther story. l8er everybody

Zippy,
If your refering to web site popups, then the best way to deal with them is by using a 3rd party application that will block them.
This can be achieved by using the Google toolbar, or my personal prefered method which is installing "Crazybrowser" (I think its available for download here) ontop of IE.
Crazybrowser is a 350K program, which will block popups, its highly configurable and also allows you to open multiple browsers within one window (with the use of tabs), saving your desktop space.
If your popup problem is not related to the web browser, then you need to give us a bit more information.
Cheers,

I will give that crazy browswer a try. But I already have multiple browsers in one window because I use Opera But I really need to get rid of this popup issue. And what exactly is a screenshot gonna solve. Its a popup: whether its a viagra popup or a car popup trying to sell you one, whats the difference? lol. Screenshots are irrelevant here. I will dl that program admin. Thanks, I'll give that a shot. l8er guys!

Mmmm.. the screeshot is relevant.. because some of us are not familiar with AOL AIM (thank god and don't know what sort of popup you might be seeing..
errrr.. the only suggestion I could give you is grab yourself some popup busting software, and install a personal firewall like zonealarm (while this may not be related to your popup problem, since you're on 24/7.. you might -- i rephrase-- you SHOULD want to do this)
As a side thought... have you looked around in your AIM settings to see if you can disable popups ? I don't use AIM so I can't really help you out there.
Give those Popups hell !
Sahir.
ps. Yeah i thought bout SMB messages as well LOL

You may also want to download Ad Aware. I had success in the past discovering spyware with it. If your problem is browser related another to try is Avant Browser. It's freeware with a pop-up blocker and contains all your windows in the browser like Opera.
