I installed fiefox as my default browser.
I have uninstalled firefox.
I have changed IE 6 to "ASK".
IE 6 does NOT ask.
some of my web page shortcuts on my desktop will not work.

Alright, I know of one way to change this really easily. Right click on any HTML document > click open with > choose program > select internet explorer > make sure "Always select this program when opening this type of file" is checked > apply and ok and you should be back to using IE... Just curious.. what made you uninstall firefox and turn back to the dark side? *shudder*

or, as I've said in another thread, you could go into Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs -> Set Program Access and Defaults.

And my guess for the switchover would be memory leakage and/or random crashes? :)

With firefox in a windows environment... what more could you ask for... but.. then again, Im one of those complete anti IE people, although it isnt ALL windows fault that it just plain sucks...

I run both side by side.

Unfortunatly there are quite a few UK Sites that are only designed to run under IE. Its an Applet thing! But everytime i do use IE, i get really paranoid and then have to do a spyware check
