hi
try to check your server if it allows NetBIOS...also on you xp machines try to reset the TCP/IP stack...use the follwing command
1. netsh
2. nltest (install this using the tools on your Win XP installer)
3. nslookup
for the complete usage of these commands type /? at each of their end.
verify too the tcp/ip stack if it is valid using the command "winmsd"
on the left pane expand Components>Network>Protocol...anything with MSAFD and RSVP ****Service Provider are valid if not then it has been compromised...
also verify the registry key "Winsock" and "Winsock2" if they have not been altered. try to compare them to a working XP machine if possible.
hope this helps...
