Windows Firewall

firewall coding for windows requires development of packet hooking drivers that work at network and other lower layers.Is there some more precise method to develop a windows firewall fromm scratch.If driver programming is needed, any specific resource for this newbie...thanks for the reply

Hmm Im not much of a windows coder, but check out www.antioffline.com they have a section on socket programming under win which will probably be helpful.... or do the right thing .. switch over to linux and roll your own iptables :)

Btw if you do get the fw done it would be interesting to have a look at, perhaps you can sign ppl at firewall.cx up to beta test for you ? invariably people find ways of breaking things made by others !
