Hi guys .. im back again with another windows prob.....
The Group Policy client-side security extension was passed flags (17) and return a failure status code of (3).
- Security policy cannot be propagated. Cannot access the template. Error code = 3.
\\corp.xxxxxxx.xx\sysvol\corp.xxxxxx.xx\Policies\{31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}\Machine\Microsoft\Windows
NT\SecEdit\GptTmpl.inf
- Windows cannot access the registry information at
\\corp.xxxxxx.xx\sysvol\corp.xxxxxx.xx\policies\{31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}\Machine\registry.pol
with (5).
This issue is discussed in msft knowledge base article 290647.. I tried troubleshooting the errors as explained in the article.. but it somehow wont work and i still get the same errors in the log.
Can anybody help me on this one ....

Windows 2000 or 2003?
Do you have the DFS and File Replication Service running?
Also, check out this MS KB Article. It looks like it addresses your exact problem:

Here is another KB article that directly relates to the DFS client. This too could be your issue:
support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;259398
Also, depending on what other events are showing up in your logs, this could be it too:
