Setting Windows tweaks was created by jhun
hi to all,
i'm using a win 2k3 server and wanted to make users have a limited power in their windows box even if they are set as administrators in the local PCs.
is there a possiblity that disabling the registry, internet option, and network configurations on windows xp and 2k machines by a script or any means that could be run on a 2k3 server so that everytime users log on they are limited to only a certain degree even if they are set as administrators in the local PCs?
any suggestions will do. thanks...

Well if you have a domain model then the domain administrators will have priveliges over the local admins, you can setup a group policy that will do all the things you wanted to.
Jack will know more about this stuff.

Simple, but first make sure you’re logged in as the administrator in the local box.
Go to START, type in gpedit.msc hit OK and rummage through and make your selection.
Some links to check out:

Good Luck,

hi jack
thanks for the links...
well just another question...can i not make it like do it in the server and then everytime the users log on to the domain the local workstation inherits the settings that i've done even though they are administrators in their workstations?...something like a batch file that would make the necessary tweaks in the registry for some features when log in as an administrator be disabled?...would it be possible this way?..
thnaks....

You apply the group policy at the domain level and then it all magically works.. or thats the theory anyway.
