iptables for windows was created by c0lin
hi guys...
though im not an expert i can say that i've tried some win firewalls (za, tiny, kerio etc) but i consider that neither of them is quite reliable... so i ask if somebody knows some iptables | ipfw | pf applications ported on windows (xp).

I haven't seen anything similar to IPTables for WindowsXP and I don't believe there will be since there are quite a few products out there.

Let me note that Windows XP/2000 does in fact allow you to configure to some extent, rules for the IP protocol. This can be found in the network settings, TCP/IP advanced tab.

Windows doesn't have a nice set of low level kernel hooks like the netfilter hooks (that give us iptables). Most people who work with WinAPI will tell you that these low level hooks are a pain in the ass to deal with.. sure companies that make personal firewalls do it.. but for an implementation of iptables.. i dunno..

I dont think one exists.

However ZA does quite well I feel. I use it on my XP box.
