I am getting a pop up saying cannot install with a option of try again and cancel ,when I dare to install the shockwave player from the same web site .I have local adminsitrative privilidges .Is it something to do with active-x ?

Is your internet security level set to anything above medium?

Tools > Internet Options > Security > Internet > Custom Level.

Put the options such as "Run ActiveX" etc... to prompt, IE will then prompt you before running the ActiveX controls. Another option is to lower your security level to medium

Give it a whirl mate.

Hey thanks for that ............I went by that and it prompted me a couple of times to run active-x controls on the page and I click yes each time and there it is again "could not run installer " try again and it still did not work

And no the security level is medium and tried low ,no luck!
