WinServer 2003 Data transfer limitations was created by melvinllord
Hello guys,
To start, congratulations for such a great website!
I am hoping somebody may be able to provide feedback about my issue. We just recently upgraded our Lan2Lan Ethernet link from US to Mexico from 200MB to 600MB. The purpose of this link is to migrate data to the customers datacenter in Mexico.
The Unix admins are able to use this link and see great improvement in the speed of the link. However, the Windows Server admins complain that their data transfers are very slow. All servers have Gigabit Ethernet.
One thing I noticed is that they are transferring data just using drag and drop instead of using FTP or a better application.
How do I prove to them that this is not WAN related? I believe there has to be a limitation in Windows Server 2003. Maybe multithreading or something like that. Any ideas?

Robocopy can be multi-threaded. It works for windows I would try that.
