Hello all,
I m having problem of changing my homepage to some porn search engine websites. I googled n found the trojan named TROJ_SMALL.GN. I scaned with 3 different antiviruses but it couldn't detect .According to the technical details provided on www.trendmicro.com i deleted all exe files from windows folder nalso from registry. Next morning when i turned on it was back to the hell again, its really nagging me. What shall i do, will those be detected by spyware programs or u guys recommend me some other tools to clean up... Hope u guys will find a solution/name of that virus/trojan/worm for it.

Share the Knowledge, make a master being a Master...
Best Regards,

Sounds like a classic hijacking to me, I hate when that happens!

Normal stuff to do is check you’re Registry, make sure you’re clean there.
Remember when ever workings with the registry ALWAYS make a backup copy.

A good tool for that would be Registry Crawler (download a free 30 day trial: www.4developers.com/regc/index.htm ) and do a search for that known Trojan, when you find it, identify it is Trojan related then delete it.

Not sure what OS you have but if it’s a newer NT based box then open up the MMC and follow these steps, ensure you are doing this as the admin.

• Start / Run / Type: MMC click OK
• File / Add/Remove Snap In…
• Click on ADD
• Select Local Computer Policy / Add / OK
• Expand Local Computer Policy
• Expand User Configuration
• Expand Administrative Template
• Expand Internet Explore
• On the right on side locate: Disabling Homepage Settings, double click.
• Select Enable
• Reboot your computer. Done.

This should temporarily fix the issue until you get your system clean.
Now inside MMC you will find all kinds of neat and groovy things you wanna click on but understand what the outcome may be, so remember what you played with so you can put it back if you break it!

Most likely hijacking programs will be detected by spyware programs. Actually yesterday I had the same problem where the home page kept on changing to a search website.

I fixed the problem by running Ad-Aware

Give that a go.

I use to have the same problem on my laptop until I used Ad-Aware. It got rid of it. Good program. I use it on all my work computers.
