Would like to know, if I have two servers and want to create a virtualization environment, do I have to purchase Microsoft Server 2008 R2 x 2 units (one for each physical server) or 1 unit will do for both physical servers?
1 Per server but if you buy enterprise you get a total of 4 installs per "host" so you would get 3 virtual servers per host also. Enterprise allows you to do fail over clustering so you can live migrate virtual machines if you have a San.
