windows server 2003 Password Policy was created by chandak76
Hi,I just set up windows server 2003 lab at home ,but when i try to crate a user i get this message "Windows can not set the pasword for user name because :The password does not meet the password requirements.Check the minimum password length:password complexity and password history requirements."when I try to to edit it,it seems dim so i can not do anything.Please help.

This is very simple, basically policies are in place that ensure that the password is of a certain minimum length and complexity (must be alphanumeric, non-dictionary word, special characters etc etc).
I've not used 2003 (will actually be hardening it as a bastion host for the first time this evening) but in Win2k you would go to local security policy, and look under Account Policies | Password Policies.
That will let you set the password requirements.
