large word file causes Blue Screen Of Death was created by cjsmith22
One of my machines at work (xp, p4 1.8, 1+256 g ram) seems to blue screen (stop: 0x0000007F) on opening of a large word document ( The particular document has quite a few embedded pictures and excel files in it). The machine was given an extra gig of ram about 3 months ago but this is the first time i've experienced the BSOD on it. the BSOD doesnt always happen on opening of this file only on occasion, but it is particular to the word file in question. any ideas?
the pc is also running a piece of software called ZANGO - anyone have any experience of this?

mt experience was just my memory hanging up and that buffers becoming filled up. Basically to much information too fast. probably not your problem. sometimes the pc also doesn't see the new mem well so you might have to have it reinstalled.
but ive never used zango and i don't know what it is so maybe the problem lies there. Are you opening anything with zango at the same time or anything like that?

cheers for the response fellas - it's not actually my machine so i've never used zango but from doing some looking around on the net i've found zango described as 'spyware, adware, and general crapware' so i'm not sure whether the problem lies there or not.
i booted the pc up yesterday, closed down all startup programs not needed and the file in question opened fine - however when it's happened in the past it's been when there've been quite a number of programs running including a vpn client, cyberarmour, nortel tunnel guard, avg, adobe pro, word, etc. - more likely to be the cause?

hey cjsmith this is an advice from personal experience. if its the zango i knw then i suggest u take it out. Brother if u still want ur system to be free of blue screen of death. cos i dont see how a large msword file could cause a system to go BSOD. any way its well.
man zango is a useless software with alot or wares that has exceeded human definition. (lol) take out anything that has to do with a toolbar. except - yahoo, google and common toolbars that do not cause wares like our all new Alexa.
cheers

all those anti virus and spy ware programs maybe be coming into conflict with it i know AVG hates that sort of thing as i use it as well. IT like any P2P file transfer server service its typically run on ad ware so it BLOWS and fills up your registry's and ads files and trackers so
