Since I have seperated the network into two different subnets when you go into the my network places on the workstations they only see the computers on their subnets but if you serach active directory you can see all of them and you can also type \\computername and connect to computers on the other subnet but they do not show up in my network places. does anyone know how i can make all computers show up on both subnets or perhaps make subgroups

It should work if you configure WINS and setup a WINS Service. The My Network Places works using NetBIOS which tends to be more broadcast in nature unless you are using WINS. Broadcasts will not go through routers (by Default).

Hi there,
My Network Places generally shows you network connections that you have connected to through browsing. It remembers these connections that you have made for furture use.
If you want to browse the network then you need to click on Entire Network --> Microsoft Windows Networks which should then show you your domain where your hosts are ?
Thats how it works on my machine anyway.
Cheers
