Hello Fam1x
If you turn off the thumbnail view (under the View menu select Tiles, Icons, List or Details instead of Thumbnails) does Explorer crash then?

Try to optimize internet explorer browser

1. Click Start -> Run and type inetcpl.cpl and press Enter .

2. Click "Delete Cookies" and select Yes when prompted to confirm the change.

3. Click "Delete Files" and select Yes to confirm this.

4. Click "Clear History" and select Yes when prompted to confirm this.

5. Click "Settings", and then click "View Files". Delete all files in this folder.

6. In the Settings window, click "View Objects". Delete all the objects in this
folder. If some objects cannot be deleted, please restart the computer and try
again.

7. Switch to the Security tab, select Internet and click "Default Level".

8. Switch to the Content tab, and then click AutoComplete. Clear Forms and
Passwords.

9. Switch to the Advanced tab, click the "Restore Defaults" button, and then
deselect "Enable third-party browser extensions".

10. Click OK.

Step 2

1. Close all instances of Internet Explorer and Outlook Express.

2. Click Start->Run.

3. Type the following command and click OK in each time.

Hi puneetvig,

Thanks for the post, loads of detailed information for Internet Explorer. Just one thing though, i think the original post is for Windows Explorer NOT Internet Explorer !

Thank for correcting me and I apologize for that.

May be this will work:

When viewing a folder in Windows Explorer that contains Video files you choose to
view in Thumbnail view.
Instead of showing a thumbnail clip of the video the Windows Media Player icon is
displayed instead.

This can occur if the Class entries for the file type have been modified.
To resolve this issue we can manually modify the keys to meet the below values or
we can copy and paste the below text into a text file and save it with a .reg
extension at which time we can double click to merge with the registry.

Note: These are the original settings out of the box and we are simply restoring them
