how to see how many memory sticks by using software?

i just bought my new destop but i can't open and see how many memory sticks in there, so can anyone tell me a way to see RAM sticks by using a software on Windows?

Hardware diagnostic programs like Sysjewel , Aida or Everest will provide this info. You may also find it in the BIOS screens.

agree with DaLight,
also, while your PC starts, you can look for the slots that are displayed during the POST. normally there are two slots, slot 0 and 1. according the to BIOS display, it might come up as either slot 0- enabled: slot 1- enabled, or even slot - 0 256 slot - 1 256 (say for instance you have 512 MB ram in two seperate halves.)
