Windows 2003R2 Partitions was created by beexo
I am setting up a win2003R2 Server, and am having many different problem. But I will post each one separately.
I have a disk where I created 4 partitions. On one (c:) I installed the OS, Directory services, etc. I will use the other partitions to hold the user's files, etc.
Q: Can I have 2 or more folders with the same name, if they are in different partitions? If so When you share the folder, how do you tell which partitions to use.
This may sound like a stupid question. But maybe it will answer my real question (too complex) in an indirect way.

Yes you can have folders with the same names in different partitions. Share names do not have to be the same as folder names, so you can give the shares different names.

I was confusing shares with the actual folders. Yes, you can have folders with the same name as long as they are in different partitions. But shres must be unique.
Thanks for clearing my mind. MS windows server is turning my brain spin too fast.
