hi,

well just to clarify things are we talking about a domain type kind of an environment or is your network in a workgroup setup? if it is in a domain environment, be sure that the clients (both machine and user) are added to AD of your Win 2k server in order to gain permission rights and access. if it is in a workgroup type, see to it that all client machines including the server are within the same workgroup name. and that accounts from the server and to client workstations are the same also.

hope this helps.

Its a domain setup, after looking at the AD under conputers ,I ive noticed that the domain controller is not listed there, and whe I try to create a new computer I get this error "Windows can not create a new computer object because the pre-windows 2000 computer name "compuer-name"is already in use select another name and try again. Most of stuff eg printer, antivirus are setup under this name. The other thing is that I can not even share printer connected to idividual pcs coz i can not seem to browse the network

The Domain Controllers are listed under the "Domain Controller" folder rather than than the "Computers" folder.

So in summary, you've got an AD domain with a Win2K server, clients and a printer.

A few questions:
1. Have the clients ever worked OK?
2. Are they all listed in the "Computers" folder in AD?
3. What operating system do your clients run?
