HOW TO OPARATE Gnome Terminal In SUSE LINUX was created by decolnz
Hi people to be honest i am new to LINUX and i have never used it though i am tring to Learn HOW to use the Oparating System.
My problem lies on how to issue commands in the Gnome Terninal because i have installed Suse Linux on my pc BUT THINGS DONT WORKOUT.
1)HOW CAN I CHANGE FROM ONE PROMPT SAY "user@linux user $ TO MAY BE A > Prompt
2) HOW CAN I MAKE THE "ls" COMMAND TO WORK AND OTHER COMMANDS TO.

To answer your questions:
1) Start with "man bash"
2) You haven't given any information of why they are not working so no one can help you.

Hello decolnz,
If you are new to the philosophy of linux then truth is there are much to read before things start making sense. Kill's suggestion is a valid one, however possibly you'll get too frustrated before you have read enough man pages to keep you going, because each one refers to many other things that will be unknown to you.
I suggest you read LNAG or an other book of your choise, which will guide you through the basics more smoothly.
