Hello,

I have a pc running Win Xp and a laptop running mandrake 10.1. I would like to know does anyone know how to create a network share between the two machines. Is there a Site that i can go to that has tutorials that will show me how to configure and use Mandrake.

Thanks,

Well,

for my point of view the best thing is to master Samba server you should install it on the linux box.

Replied by Lindows on topic Samba Server?
Is samba server similar to mandrake 10. I really didn't understand the reply. Or in other words your telling me that i should set up a server using mandrake, then i'll be able to create a network connection between by windows xp box and mandrake 10 laptop.

Samba is a server application that runs on Linux and supports the SMB protocol, which makes it look like a Windows Server to Windows clients. It comes with most Linux distros and can be usually enabled from the GUI.
This is usually how network shares are setup between Windows clients and Linux.
