OpenBSD enigma

OpenBSD enigma was created by skynet3
We have a OpenBSD box that is our gateway server.
Right now I can sit at the console and login into with root. But everything I type is not printed on the screen.
After typing "exit" it will log me off.
What can I type after I login to re-enable printing to the screen?
I've tried some variant of echo, but that still doesn't work.
I'm running OpenBSD 3.2
Thanks for all the help.

That is strange. It shouldn't affect it, but did you try selecting a different terminal emulator? Try editing /etc/profile to contain EXPORT TERM=xterm-color or EXPORT TERM=xterm or EXPORT TERM=vt220 -edit ~/.profile also if necessary-. Then log out and relog in
