stefke how would i test to make shure it can be resolved publicly? I have the servers now on our public domain so that should be possible already. It wasnt before saw that on a message board so changed it that way. do i just try to ping the fQDN on a pc form home or somthing?

also sahirh all those entries in the forward lookup

are A name and all servers virtual smtp point to them

pfabrex01.new-domain.com
pffsdex01.new-domain.com
pffsdex02.new-domain

so it lookes to me that right but im a newb at dns maybe im missing something.

You can use a site like www.dnsstuff.com to see if your FQDN is resolved to the wright IP address.

Basically you have to make sure that your MX record does not point to a CNAME record but rather to an A pointer record..

This is usually the problem, its quite common with Exim

OK here are m results every thing looks just fine i just dont get it only address that doesnt seem right or i dont know what it is.

That address doesnt look right but its ping able from my work station here not sure what it is tho.

ALSO it says the domain has 2 DNS servers....As far as i know we only have 1 im pretty sure of that fact.......
