hi,
over the past few days i have been trying to get gprs enabled phones to work with my laptop . I have successfully managed to connect Samsung,Motorola,Nokia, Sony Ericsson & Philips models using both infrared and serial cables.

The problem is that i did all of it on windows and now when i am trying it on linux , i don't have a clue as to why its not working.

I am at the moment trying to configure a Sony Ericsson T610 using both infrared and serial cable but somehow it seems to me that the phone is not answering to the AT commands. I have searched on google and got a lot of documents as well , but in vain.Thanx in advance

Thanks a lot Sahir , but i already have those documents....and guess what !!! i still can't make it work !!!

I haven't tried Easy Connect though coz using a GUI application would be pretty easy and i want to do it the hard way !!!

For serial connectivity , i am using the PL2303 module but still no luck

In case of infrared ..... I am already thru with the entire Linux/Irda project

I feel that what i am missing is something very elementary!!! i guess i'll try again tomorrow , spent enough hours today.

Hmmm.. hit the forums or drop a mail to one of those guys who develop the stuff, they'll help you out..

I haven't tried it myself though.. the GPRS on my phone is only for the phone itself so that I can surf the net while on the train.

Cheers,
