hi,
need help on a problem which i just can't seem to resolve. I have installed Red Hat 9 on one of the machines in office. It works fine under runlevel 3 but as soon as i shift to 5 the keyboard and mouse stop working. The same thing happens even if i boot directly into runlevel 5 . Thanx in advance.....

Does the mouse work in ncurses or similar console based environments with a mouse (like midnight commander ?). Try running kudzu and redetecting hardware manually.
Otherwise reconfigure X.. I forget what the command is.. xfree86cfg, xf86config.. etc etc.. or just manually edit /etc/X11/XFree86
Check the redhat support documents there will be a full procedure.

okie ... so i configure /etc...../XF86config.....right
1 problem......what do i configure in that ??
i thought kudzu might be creating problems , so booted into runlevel 3 and turned it off for 5 , shifted over to 5 , but problem still persists....
