Actually, setting up IpCop is not that difficult. You just need to understand what goals you want to have with your network. You need to firs design your network and decide what would IpCop's part would be in your network. You must know your parameters first in order to setup IpCop properly. read each instructions of the IpCop installation procedures.

don't bother with ipcop. use pfsense (pfsense.com) it is waay superior.
i've ran several years with both ipcop and smoothwall and neither can hold a candle to pfesense.
give it a shot and see what you think.
and to what the others have said, tell us what you are trying to accomplish, connection details, etc...
